Addressing Our Facility Needs in Williamsburg Schools
Our Needs
Williamsburg CSD is fortunate to have quality schools that have been made possible with investments throughout the decades from our residents and property taxpayers. However, we have facility needs that stretch beyond what our general budget can cover, and fortunately, the State of Iowa provides additional sources of funding that are specifically dedicated to facility improvements for public schools and are designed to protect our general fund from such significant facility-related costs.

Williamsburg Jr/Sr High School is in need of improvements to its HVAC systems and updates to classroom fixtures, finishes, and furniture. Additional space is needed to accommodate the instrumental music program, and the district hopes to consolidate cafeterias and create a commons area for students to gather.

The creation of a new Career and Technical Education Center at Williamsburg Jr/Sr High School would provide the educational space for students to gain hands-on training and experience to prepare them for a multitude of growing career fields.
At Mary Welsh Elementary School, the district aims to construct a new wing for 5th and 6th Grade students, make upgrades to the HVAC systems, install new LED lights, update classroom fixtures and finishes, and create additional parking.
