How to Vote

The election will be held on Tuesday, November 5, 2024. The polls will be open from 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. and eligible voters will need a valid ID in order to cast a ballot.

 

Polling locations can be found on the Iowa Secretary of State’s website at https://sos.iowa.gov/elections. Additional local election information is available on the Iowa County Auditor’s Office website.

If you are not registered to vote, you can submit a voter registration form to your county auditor’s office before October 21. You may also register on election day at your polling location.

Registered voters can request a mailed absentee ballot ahead of election day through the Iowa County Auditor’s Office. The first day that voters can request a mailed absentee ballot is August 27. Ballots will be mailed starting October 16.

To receive a mailed absentee ballot, complete a request form and return it to the auditor’s office. The deadline to request a mailed ballot is October 21. Ballots must be received by the auditor’s office before the polls close at 8:00 p.m. on election day to be considered for counting.

In-person absentee voting begins on October 16 and can be completed at the Iowa County Auditor’s Office through November 4. The auditor's office is open weekdays from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and located at 970 Court Avenue in Marengo.

The Williamsburg CSD will also host two satellite voting opportunities ahead of the November 5 general election.Registered voters can cast their ballot early on October 23 and October 24, from 2 to 8 p.m. at Mary Welsh Elementary School during parent-teacher conferences. Eligible voters may also register at the satellite location. The ballot at the satellite station will be the same one used on November 5.
